OnePlus Pad Go 2 gets FCC approval ahead of December debut

OnePlus’s upcoming mid-range tablet has cleared a regulatory milestone in the United States, with the OnePlus Pad Go 2 receiving FCC certification this week under model number OPD2504. The certification confirms several specifications for the device, including Android 16-based OxygenOS 16, Wi-Fi 6 dual-band support, and comprehensive network compatibility spanning 2G through 5G.

According to the FCC listing with identifier 2ABZ2-OPD2504, the tablet will feature Bluetooth connectivity including BR, EDR, and BLE standards, along with Wi-Fi 6 support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. The certification confirms the device’s hardware version as “11” and validates its readiness for the U.S. market alongside previously announced launches in India and Europe.

OnePlus has scheduled a December 17 launch event where the Pad Go 2 will debut alongside the OnePlus 15R smartphone. The tablet will be available in India, Europe, and North America, with landing pages already live on OnePlus India, Amazon India, and Flipkart.

First 5G Tablet in OnePlus Lineup

The Pad Go 2 marks a departure from its predecessor by introducing 5G connectivity to the Pad Go series for the first time. This feature will be available exclusively on the Shadow Black variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. The device will also be offered in a Lavender Drift color option.

Another notable addition is stylus support through the OnePlus Pad Go 2 Stylo, which OnePlus says will feature 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. This represents the first integrated stylus for the Pad Go series, positioning the tablet for note-taking and creative work.

The device features a minimalist design with a single rear camera without flash, according to teaser images. OnePlus has emphasized the tablet’s “sleek and skin-friendly finish” with an anti-glare glass surface.

The original OnePlus Pad Go launched in October 2023 with 4G LTE support and a MediaTek Helio G99 processor. The successor’s 5G capability and stylus compatibility address two features that were absent from the first generation.

OnePlus is expected to reveal additional specifications including display size, processor details, and pricing in the weeks leading up to the December 17 launch event. The company is positioning the Pad Go 2 as an accessible productivity tool for students and professionals in the mid-range tablet segment.
